Among the projects under
way are:
Reflective tags.
The reflective ear tag programme is well under way. There are now
hundreds of donkeys in Namibia which are better protected against
road accidents at night. The plan is tags as many donkeys as resources
will allow.
Access to education for all.
We are well advanced in plans to provide
schools with special donkey carts. These carts will be painted
the same yellow as the school buses you see in the USA and will
serve the same purpose. - getting children safely to school.
Namibian children often have to walk many miles to school. The
carts will enable them to arrive refreshed and better able to learn.
While in lessons the cart will be utilised for the benefit of the
school, carrying firewood and water.
In line with our eco-sensitive aims, Donkey Welfare
of Namibia are committed to using as
many recyled parts in the construction of the carts.
Major campaign to make the roads in Namibia safer
this Christmas.
The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA
Fund) was established in 1990 by the Government of Namibia to provide
assistance to victims of road accidents . This year they have partnered
with Donkey Welfare of Namibia, for their high-profile Christmas
campaign to improve safety on the roads.
